The members of the 2018 SEACSM Clinical Track Planning Committee are: Kenneth Barnes, MD, FACSM (Clinical Representative); Matthew Close, DO (Program Chair), Brent Messick MD (Vice Chair), Ryan Draper DO, David Liddle MD, and Amadeus Mason MD. We invite sports medicine fellowship directors, faculty members, fellows, sports medicine physicians in private practice, physical therapists and athletic trainers to join us at the 2018 SEACSM Annual Meeting's Clinical Track on February 16th and 17th at the Chattanoogan in beautiful downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee.
ACSM Leadership and Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Directors are scheduled to provide evidence and expertise surrounding cutting edge issues in Sports Medicine. The theme of the 2018 SEACSM Annual Meeting's Clinical Track is "Hot Topics in Sports Medicine” We will be addressing such issues as the use and efficacy of biologic agents, minimally invasive tenotomy, sideline use of MSK ultrasound, nutrition in sport, rehabilitation techniques with concussion, current concepts in pitch counts and baseball overuse, bone health the female athletic triad, doping and the role of the physician, management of clavicle fractures, bullying and hazing in adolescents, energy options for athletes, hip injuries in athletes, and stem cell therapy and EBM, As always, our talks will focus on evidence-based research.
Attention current Residents and Fellows - We want your Cases!
We always devote a significant portion of the program to interesting clinical cases, and this learning opportunity plays a big part in the agenda. We ask that sports medicine fellowship directors encourage your fellows to submit a case for presentation as part of the 2018 Clinical Track. Please submit your clinical cases (Microsoft Word Document as e-mail attachment) directly to Brent Messick, MD (Clinical Track Vice Chair) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Required format for case abstract submissions is as follows: Title of Case, History (to include history of present illness, past medical history, medications, allergies, etc.), Physical Examination, Differential Diagnosis List, Data (to include diagnostic tests performed and results, laboratory studies performed and results, etc.), Final Working Diagnosis, Treatment, and Outcome. Please do not exceed 500 words.
The deadline for case abstract submission is Monday December 11th, 2017. All submissions will be notified of a decision by January 4th, 2018. All presenters selected to present his/her case will have their registration fees waived. In addition, the overall winner of best case will receive a monetary award.
Lastly, we are always looking for input and participation from our clinical members and are asking if anyone has an interest in becoming involved in the leadership aspect of the SEACSM Clinical Track, please reach out to either Ken (email@example.com) or Matt (firstname.lastname@example.org). We are always seeking members to join the Program Planning Committee.
